Momentum is donating 10% of its profits to the
Colorado Environmental Coalition!
In celebration of Earth Day, Momentum is hosting the Colorado Environmental Coalition (CEC) on Saturday, April 19th, from 1-4pm, for its regular 3rd Saturday of the month event.
CEC serves as the grassroots organizing arm of Colorado’s environmental movement. CEC not only provides technical and organizational assistance to over 75 partner environmental groups, but also works to educate and mobilize Colorado’s citizens. CEC has played a vital role in securing wilderness designations for the Black Ridge Canyons, Gunnison Gorge, Spanish Peaks, Weminuche, Flat Tops, Sangre de Cristo and Eagle’s Nest wilderness areas, as well as protection for the Cache la Poudre River. CEC was also instrumental in bringing light rail to the Denver Metro area.
In honor of Earth Day, we invite you to come and learn what this vital non-profit is doing to preserve our state’s natural heritage and quality of life.

Momentum News

On April 8th, Jenny Natapow will be speaking at Colorado College about her current work with fair trade and women. Jenny minored in International Women's Studies and was one of three alumnae invited to participate in the Distinguished Alumnae Feminist and Gender Studies Panel.
According to the Fair Trade Federation, 70% of Fair Trade artisans are women, who are often the sole wage earners in their homes. When women have the opportunity to earn an income, they gain increased control over their family's spending priorities, often using the money to improve the lives of their children. This results in better education, healthier food and improved health care for families, which helps to directly end the cycle of poverty. For more information about Fair Trade and women, visit:

Community Shout Out!
The entire Momentum Team would like to publicly thank the "Baking Angel," who has been anonymously giving tins and baskets of homemade baked goods to Momentum since December. The only thing we knew was that the goodies were her way of "thanking Momentum for existing." It took some stealthy moves on our part, but we were finally able to meet, hug and thank our Baking Angel - Isabel Mar - for her delicious support. Thank you Isabel!

March International Women's Day Event

In honor of International Women’s Day, Momentum featured Friendship Bridge as its 3rd Saturday of the month event. Linda Pneuman, a volunteer and member of the Boulder Friendship Bridge circle, spoke with interested customers about their micro-credit and education programs which serve over 18,000 women in rural Guatemala. Scarves and beaded jewelry, carefully crafted by Guatemalan women were available for sale, with all proceeds benefiting Friendship Bridge. We thank everyone who attended the event for helping raise awareness about this Evergreen, Colorado-based non-profit and for raising $100 for Friendship Bridge’s remarkable programs in Guatemala.
