Join the Fair Party
Momentum invites you to sign the petition appealing to the First Lady to Fair Trade the White House. The goal of the campaign is simple: to raise the profile of Fair Trade and have the White House demonstrate to the country that buying Fair Trade products is easy, delicious, and empowering for workers and communities worldwide.
Reverse Trick-or-Treat in Your Neighborhood
Supplies available at Momentum
Momentum is once again teaming up with Global Exchange and Equal Exchange to support Reverse Trick-or-Treating, the new Halloween tradition of children handing Fair Trade chocolate back to their neighbors.
How it Works
The goal of the campaign is for trick-or-treaters nationwide to distribute informational cards explaining the importance of Fair Trade chocolate, each with a piece of Fair Trade chocolate, to as many households as possible. Last year we reached over 200,000 households. This year, with your help, we can reach even more. This is a great way to speak with your neighbors about the scary* side of the chocolate industry and the promise of Fair Trade!
If you are interested in participating in the national Reverse Trick-or-Treating Campaign, pick up your free supplies at Momentum (supplies are limited so call and reserve yours today) or directly online through Global Exchange.
*Ironically, chocolate is no treat to the hundreds of thousands of child cocoa laborers that work helping their families on farms or even toil as slaves. Illegal child labor is a major problem on cocoa farms in West Africa, especially in the Ivory Coast, which supplies 40 percent of the world's cocoa. USAID estimated that 284,000 children work in abusive child labor conditions on cocoa farms in West Africa, and that 64% of those children are under 14 years old. There is a solution -- Fair Trade Certified Chocolate -- and Momentum is asking for your help in promoting Fair Trade chocolate this Halloween.

Congratulations to 7 year old Max Whiton, who won our "Name the Galimoto" contest and a $50 Momentum Gift Certificate.
His winning entry was “Salimoto”, the name for our newly constructed life size Galimoto cyclist. This past June, in honor of Bike Month, Momentum staff took on the challenge of creating a LIFE SIZED replica of our popular children’s bicycle rider push toy (Galimoto), from salvaged materials. Thanks again to Josh at Community Cycles who made the entire endeavor possible.
