The Carriage House Community Table
Momentum is donating 100% of the proceeds from the sale of Women's Bean Project products to this local non-profit.
The Carriage House Community Table (CHCT) provides a safe supportive community for Boulder's homeless and working poor. This local non-profit is not only committed to addressing their clients immediate survival needs but also offers services that lead to healing, employment and housing. Clients receive free meals, medical and mental health services and assistance from a case manager. In 2008 CHCT served over 2,500 people and helped over 100 individuals find jobs.
CHCT’s Director, Joy Eckstine, and volunteers will be at Momentum serving soup and answering questions about CHCT’s services and Boulder’s homeless population.
Heart for the Homeless Collection
Momentum is Collecting Old Socks and Toiletries
November 1st - 30th
In addition to donating all the proceeds from the sale of Women’s Bean Project Products on November 14th, Momentum is collecting toiletries and old socks for CHCT for the entire month of November. That’s right, old socks ~ those socks you have been meaning to toss and those hotel toiletries that have been accumulating are exactly what CHCT needs to help keep Boulder’s homeless population warm, dry and clean.
December World AIDS Day Event:
Friday the 4th, 4-8pm
SHOP FOR CHANGE ON WORLD AIDS DAY
Momentum is donating 15% of the day's
profits to help fight HIV & AIDS.
On December 4th, in commemoration of World AIDS Day, Momentum is hosting a special shopping night. 15% of every purchase will be donated to Boulder County AIDS Project (BCAP). BCAP committee members will be at Momentum from 4-7 to answer questions and share information.
World AIDS Day is considered a global day of action and you are invited to come “shop for change” at Momentum and on The East End of Pearl Street. Numerous businesses on East Pearl are donating portions of their proceeds to BCAP. For a detailed list of participants and specials, visit The East End's First Friday website.
Last year, thanks to your support, Momentum raised $1,000 on World AIDS Day for this vital cause! Help us raise more money this year ~ save all your holiday shopping for December 4th!
Momentum is participating in Boulder's Share-A-Gift program. This program provides toys to children (ages 0-14) of low income families in the Boulder Valley School District.
From November 25th - December 15th a donation box will be available at Momentum for community donations of new and slightly used toys, books and bikes. For every gift you give, you will receive 10% off any item in our store. The more you give, the more you save. We are also offering a 15% discount on all gift donations that are purchased at Momentum. Thank you for helping us make the holiday season an abundant time for all.

Canaan Olive Oil
The Washington Post recently covered the story of Canaan’s Fair Trade Olive Oil, which Momentum proudly carries. The native Nabali Tree olive oil is from the land where olive oil began; a naturally organic tradition, owing to ancient Canaanite farming practices.
Fair Trade Month Celebration
Thanks to everyone (we had over 100 guesses) who participated in our 3rd annual Halloween chocolate tasting celebration, in honor of Fair Trade Month. Our mystery flavor this year was Shaman Chocolates Dark Chocolate (60% Cacao) infused with antioxidant-rich acai berries and a hint of zesty lemon and orange peel. We stumped everyone but four folks correctly identified the dark chocolate and orange peel, so we held a drawing and Kris Briggs is the lucky winner of a $50 Momentum Gift Certificate. The three runners up will receive free chocolate!
Momentum participated in Fair Trade Month again this year by being a local sponsor of the 3rd annual national Reverse Trick-or-Treating campaign. The Reverse Trick-or-Treating campaign, where trick-or-treaters hand out fair trade chocolate along with an informational card, is designed to raise awareness of the extensive use of exploitive child labor in the cocoa fields. We handed out over 500 Fair Trade chocolate and information cards to children motivated to bring Reverse Trick or Treating (RTT) to their neighborhoods. Here are some of the stories they shared with us...
Colette Marie, from Lafayette, enthusiastically related how her six year old daughter, Gabriela “got a kick out of handing out the cards and chocolate- she really liked giving back. The entire experience was overwhelmingly positive. Gabriela was definitely into it and hearing a six year old explain what Fair Trade is, to another six year old, blows your mind.”
“The RTT campaign also got my husband and I thinking about how much more we can do next year. This year we handed out Fair Trade chocolate to trick-or- treaters but we were thinking how helpful it would have been to include information along with the Fair Trade chocolates ~ you know, for when parents raid their children’s candy stashes.”
In South Boulder, eight year old Zoe Eklund participated in RTT. She shared, “I went all around the neighborhood and delivered almost 50 cards and chocolate. I think this is a good cause and it was fun”
